Pro-Fit Physical Therapy was created in 2013 by Tyson Sellers MPT
and Derek Botten PTA. We had worked together previously
and identified the need for outpatient physical therapy
in the growing community of Lumberton, TX. Our practice
has grown as has Lumberton. We strive to provide each
patient with the expertise and compassion they
need and deserve to overcome whatever ailment
they are being treated for.

Manual Therapy

Manual therapy will include myofascial release, joint mobilitization, spinal mobilitzation, traction, suboccipital release, scar massage, and muscle energy techniques.

Dry Needling

Dry needling is the insertion of solid filament needles into trigger points. Trigger points are areas of tissue that are exceptionally tender.

Balance training

The balance system is a complex system with various inputs that allows us to maintain position in space and move without falling.

Electrical Stimulation

There are different forms of electrical stimulation that may be prescribed by your physician or recommended by one of our clinicians.

Gait training

Canalith Repositioning

Cannolith repositioning can be effective at treating a certain type of vertigo (feels like the room is spinnin) called BPPV

Ultrasound/Phonophoresis

Ultrasound is a modality that can be used to heat up deeper tissues and can also be used to break up scar tissue.

Iontophoresis

Iontophoresis is the use of electrical current to drive medication, most typically dexamethasone, into tissues using pads and a small electronic device.

Tyson Sellers

Owner/PT

Tyson grew up in Silsbee, TX and graduated from Lamar University Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Health and Minors in Biology and Psychology. He was then accepted to and graduated from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio where he received his Masters of Physical Therapy in 2001. He practiced as a Physical Therapist in a variety of settings before deciding to open Pro-Fit with his friend and business partner Derek Botten.

Derek Botten

Owner/PTA

Derek has been a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant since 2005 right here in South East Texas. He enjoys meeting new patients and discovering how he can best help each individual improve their health and function through physical therapy. Derek stays busy with his wife (Allison), two kids (Lorali, Letty) and two dogs (Tipsy, Penny). In Derek’s free time, he enjoys being outdoors, golfing, watching sports, and spending quality time with family and friends.
